architecture practice, H2, has designed the saigon thuong mai hotel in the center of vinh, vietnam. the new hotel is rebuilt from the existing one, and the main challenge for the architects was to create a more exciting and easily-recognizable façade for pedestrians. secondly, the interior needed to be redesigned for more effective use and to enable natural light and ventilation into the internal spaces.
建筑采用可持续和绿色材料设计，H2建筑师与当地人合作，了解当地可利用的资源。由于当地的细木工店有大量的木板，这个元素在设计理念中被用来创造木材的美感。将收集到的木板制作成许多大小相同的小木柱，再与铁架结合形成一种模块。然后使用这些模块创建新的外观。木柱子解决了创造有趣的外观和引入自然风和阳光的挑战。
the building is designed using sustainable and green materials and the architects of H2 worked with locals to understand locally available resources. due to the abundance of wooden slabs from local joinery shops, this element has been used in the concept of the design to create the timber aesthetic. the wooden slabs were collected then made into many small wooden pillars of the same size, then combined with iron frames to develop a kind of module. these modules are then used to create the new façade. the wooden pillars solve both challenges of creating an interesting front elevation and bringing in natural wind and sunlight.
室内空间采用木材、木柱、磨石地板等简单自然的材料进行设计。新方案还在酒店内部加入了更多的水和绿色元素，帮助创造有趣的景色和净化空气环境，使空气更加纯净。H2的解决方案使酒店获得自然的风和阳光，从而节约了电力。
the interior spaces are designed with simple and natural materials such as wood, wood pillars and whetstone floor. the new scheme also incorporates more water and green elements inside the hotel to help create interesting views and refresh the microclimate, making the air purer. the solution by H2 results in a hotel that gains natural wind and sunlight, therefore contributing to saving electricity.
