序 | Preface
Nanjing, a beautiful place in the regions south of the Yangtze River, is the imperial state of Jinling. It is surrounded by natural mountains and rivers, and has a long history and culture.
The project is located in Jiangning District of Nanjing, where the scenery of Fangshan is abundant and the Qinhuai River is permeated with thousands of years of literary charm.
Chapter 1 设计创造客户价值
洞察 | 客户价值
Nanjing people, both dignified of the North and dexterous and delicate of the South, are not only magnanimous but also modesty. They have always been in pursuit of a cozy and elegant humanistic complex.
思考 | 设计出发点
Taking creating customer value as the starting point, this design in-depth explores a comfortable, tasteful life style which belongs to the contemporary people. It reshapes the Oriental connotation of Nanjing life, and conveys the humanistic and poetic brand connotation of the project.
关注 | 社会价值
Design concerns not only the design itself, but also the user’s experience rooted in the space. It brings people comfortable and beautiful living experience and creating value for customers, and also lets the design get back to life and makes life better.
Simplicity is a way of life and also an open and inclusive attitude towards life.
Simple space is always durable with simple lines and pure color. It uses natural materials to awaken people’s humanistic memory, and gives people concise, transparent and broad inclusive first impression.
While the light washes the wall like flowing water, the light lines and the natural silver stone form the flowing and ethereal light and shadow in the space. It restores the old appearance of the garden in the deep lane.

解读 | 灰度美学
The meaning of beauty in art and design is a multi-dimensional attempt and a reflection on life. Gray shade aesthetics is the unity of subjective beauty and objective beauty. Only if under the premise of objective beauty, subjective beauty has value.
主观美 | 平衡客户诉求
In terms of subjective beauty, more based on customer demands, the design balances multi-dimensional demands such as time, cost and aesthetics, thus creating an international Oriental experience space with contemporary humanistic atmosphere.
客观美 | 回归设计美学
On the level of objective beauty, we return to the essence of design aesthetics. Through elements, colors, materials and other design languages, the design reexplores a humanistic and comfortable way of life.
The design is inspired by Nanjing’s natural landscape and cultural ancient charm. Through the contemporary and simple design techniques and in manner of invisible should be visible, it creates a freehand style of international Oriental culture and comfortable life with taste.
Pure white block surface is included with rough stone carving, creating a kind of screen “leakage scene” charm of Oriental garden.
The interpretation of details is just right delicate. Poems and books, ink pots and painting frames are silently on the bookshelf, and the cultured ethos is ripping here.
A reading area is done by sunken structure. Between the light and shade and through the “pane wall”, it reveals a few wisps of Oriental poetry faintly and hazily.
Chapter 3 人文思考
沉淀 | 人文记忆
The space is simple and comfortable, but it doesn’t ignore the demand for humanity and grade. Through the interpretation of culture, it forms the cultural label of space, and the quality of life art is improved for people.
传承 | 因地制宜、与时俱新
The design focuses on the spiritual needs of contemporary Nanjing people, and weakens the commercial nature of the traditional sales office. It embodies the humanistic artistic conception of “courtyard” and “lane” in the garden, and endows the space with more in-depth multi-dimensional cognition and perception.
重塑 | 生活方式
Life style is a kind of cultural reflection and a kind of value reflection. Only when culture, art and space are integrated can space truly become a part of life and reshape a humanistic and comfortable way of life belonging to contemporary people.
While culture and emotion have been accumulated and fermented for a long time, the Qinhuai River, which sprang from its historical source, runs deep amid the natural texture of bamboo, coarse pottery and stone.
This paper extracts the ink blue color of Zhang Daqian’s The Painting of Mountains and Rivers and brings out the cultural background of the space. and the ups and downs of the cane weaving and hemp weaving tightly woven make people get rid of the complicated and noisy city so as to obtain the peace and quiet of the present in the vivid and lively greenery.
The beauty of south regions of the Yangtze River is flowing freely in the corner of the space. The vivid ink texture makes the space focus, and the feelings of literati are dispersed from the detailed parts of the space.
The design should make customer value and social value converge. While creating value for customers, it should also return to life and make life better, and brings people a comfortable and beautiful living experience.
