designed by KOSMOS architects in collaboration with dmitry potryasaev, the project is a result of a competition held by koltsovo, an international airport serving yekaterinburg, a city in the ural mountains, russia. aiming to avoid the typical image of an airport lounge, the design team has created a boundless black space enlivened by green plants, professionally placed lights, and a sophisticated selection of materials.
为了对抗中性、一般和柔软的休息区中灰棕色的趋势，KOSMOS设计了一个完全放松的黑暗空间，乘客可以真正地从机场的人群、噪音和匆忙中脱离出来。就像团队参考arnold bocklin的画作一样，他们的想法是创造一个完全平静、充满绿色的黑暗孤岛。
in order to oppose the tendency of grey-beige hues in neutral, generic, and soft lounge areas, KOSMOS has designed a dark space with a completely relaxing atmosphere where the passengers can really detach themselves from the airport’s crowds, noise, and rush.
